have updated first post as follows:

Leave Paraparaumu on Sat (27th June) morning at 9.00 sharp from the disused Mobil service station (just before Burger King on main Rd) and head up to Shannon for coffee then head up to Ashhurst to meet with any 'northeners' at 11.00 at the service station. Leaving Ashurst 11.15 sharp(ish)

From there it would be up to Taihape for a late lunch (1-2) via a rats nest of gravel roads via Utuwai/Apiti/Upper Kawhatau etc etc.

From Taihape to Napier via the Gentle Annie to stay at the Westshore Holiday Park same as last time.

Weather for the weekend is looking a bit dubious. If the weather is REALLY cold and REALLY wet I will crank the lecky blanket up to turbo and stay in bed....(and hopefully go the following weekend)

Are you thinking of heading up Takapari if it's a nice day? If not, I may head that way early, and meet you guys at Apiti.

if you guys insist I spose we could squeeze in a little run up to the top of the hill

might have to pull the start times back half an hour.

    wot does everyone else think?

Hey mark, if you cancel at last minute due to weather, those of us with pre booked rooms at the Holiday park will get charged on our Visa cards holding the cabins - she told me 48hrs notice to cancel with no charge! Don't know about others, but not something I can afford at the mo after having to rent a bike for $95 yesterday which I wasn't expecting!

I'm always up for a detour up the hill if I'm on the ride btw!
    Cheers, Dave
