    Smile Now I've got one...

...there's no shame in this pic, I just wanted to share my weekend's project. Wee now has a bashplate - though I prefer to think of it as protection.

Later we went on a ride north to Ngakawau on a perfect Buller day, winter isn't so bad!

That looks the bizz Pete. B&B's seem well made (I'v got one on the DT230).
Looks like it offers some protection to the oil cooler too?

    Shiny indeed

Yep, it sure is shiny! Covers the oil cooler, filter and bottom of engine. Only aspect I'm a little nervous of is the front attachment: basically a bracket off the exhaust manifold and oil cooler mount. That's why the idea of an actual 'bash' on this plate fills me with dread...

where the mount bolt holes are.
would it be possable to make a loop bracket, and go up and over the black bar that runs along front of engine.

Yeah - I think that might be the way to go - needs someone with more skills than me to sort that out though.

ive looked at your pic and is one mount fixed to frame on the left hand side of the bike. if you where sitting on it.

whats the other mount fitted to.

or i would look in to makeing a plate same width of new bash plate.
but only getting it miged to the right hand side of the join in the black bar.
and then mounting the top fittings on bash plate to the new piece.
ive drawn my idea in white.

    Smile New mount ideas

The 'plate mounts to the centre stand attachments via a custom bracket at the back - nice and solid, can be used with or without centre stand and is independent of the engine. I like your suggestion for the front mount mod, might look into that when I find a bike-friendly engineer type.

    Cheers for the ideas!

any alloy chap, like a boat repair guy or even a pannel beater shop could help out.

my plate and paladins both made at my mates boat alloy shop.
