Went into the local suuki shop today & got a set of handlebars that are pretty much the same as the original KLR bars for $40. They are basic black steel ones but most importantly the height is the same. I tried to find some good ones to replace the bent originals with but only the Renthal enduro High bars are close to the same size & there aren't any in the country.

    Cheers for the headsup Woodman.

If anyone wants one the distributor is Forbes & Davies.

Install them without the risers and roll them forward a lot like on mine. Very good for standing.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

    Renthal Classics are also good.
Running them on the XR. They're a bit wide and I've already trimmed 2-3cm off each side.

a big problem with the new style klr is when you set up the bars for standing they hit the fairing on full lock - it gets even worse if you try and fit bark busters etc.

I have cr hi bend bars on risers rotated well forward and they are a big improvement for standing but are slowly demolishing my fairing...

Just fitted the new bars - One of those jobs that is a lot more work than it should be. The new bars are 40mm narrower. I'm unsure now if the fairing will handle the jandle with the relocated barkbusters.

I'm enduroised for summer (& to be honest unless it's really really windy the headlite does a better job than the stock screen at smoothing the airflow.)

Yep same with my model. I have a windshield made up out of bits of the original fairing that got smashed up, with cutaways for the bars etc but now even that is fowling on the bark busters so the screen has come off. Good thing is now its more naked the buffeting on my head has gone so its way more comfy at speed.
Also now I don't need to move the pegs back as its as comfy as standing now, and still fine sitting.
