I love my Road King with its mustang seat it really give me the pleasure to cruise around 1 or 2 up, can't even feel the pillion. Plenty of power and good cornering ability for a big cruiser.

twin shocks are easier and cheaper to adjust and upgrade then the softtails.....

Carburators easier for DIY then injection...

removable panniers/bags are easier to live with then the "fixed" ones.

Windshields give u so much more protection from the elements....

Shop around, there are some real nice well priced new and used examples at the dealerships.

    Enjoy...
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

    I have a feeling that a Buell isn't quite a tourer......

Mind you, forward contols and saddle bags.....hmmm...possible.

I can only tell you what I have experienced. The FXR I had (with Progressive suspension at both ends) was comfy enough to go to sleep on, handled well enough and carried anything I could throw at it.

I'm currently on a 200 FXDWG, which is very comfy, doesn't quite do the corners like the FXR did but hey. it looks cool.

For the ultimate in comfort, buy a Caddy.

New or used? If new you probably cant go past the new grannyglides. abs, shock absorber in the rear wheel, bigger fuel tank. Although considering they are 96" they are a bit gutless. Nothing money wont fix. I used to have an old evo flh, terrible handling and super gutless.
Had a 95inch FXDXT which was an FXDX, adjustable suspension, bit more ground clearance, + T for touring. Detachable bags, adjustable windsheild, comfy seat, rider & passenger. Was pretty good, I would have another one. Dont think they make them anymore. Went to the Brass monkey on a Sporty, could of been worse, I might have still had my bonny.
At the moment I have an FXDX and a Buell Ulysses. Anything more than a day trip I prefer the Buell. Underseat storage, comfortable, easy to strap bags etc on it. I could set the DX up for touring but would need a new seat and have to make some sort of pannier/luggage rack bizo. And I cant be bothered. You can buy all that stuff but it costs an arm and a leg.
So I'm with Ken, the best Harley is a Buell ! (It must be a Harley because you can join HOG)
