    The GSXR250 or GPX is a good choice, not as sporty as a cbr or zxr, but you'd be lucky to get one of those on your budget. The big advantage of these two is that they're physically bigger bikes, important when you're 6'.

    get a Gn 125 or 250! GO HARD! They do 100 kmh and if you drop em? Who cares!

    Ummm, not the GSXR 250 I sat on today.... As small, and as sporty as the CBR's... Just lacking the Honda feel.

    My advise would be to go looking at a bike shop, and sit on a few... Ride a few. A Twin will actually be the bike of choice in my opinion for a 250 learners bike. A little more low down torque compared to the 4's as a rule...
    Makes it easier to live with.
