    Registration plate new format?

I was in Red Baron today and noticed the plates on the new bikes were like
67ZZK, what format and size are they going to be once 99ZZZ is issued?
    Does anyone know?

Does it then go to 000AA or A0000?

Don't know - 00AAA > 99 ZZZ will last a long while yet. Why worry?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I think after 67ZZK you get 68ZZK, so there's only about 1500 plates left. In theory, after 99ZZK you'd get 01ZZL

This particular matter also intrigues me and nobody has provided an answer. Once 99ZZZ has been issued, there are no more unique five character sequences that have not been used.

I suspect bikes will get a smaller size version of the usual car plates from that point forward. All we have to do is wait a couple of months and all will be revealed.

I wonder if the system is smart enough to reassign the dereg'd plates?? With all the bikes being written off every two minutes there must be plenty of plates available.

I think you'll find they just add an extra letter (like they did with car number plates when they ran out).

    Go to 6 digits? 00AAAA?

Not unless you reverse to alpha numeric like cars.

Yes, that would be my expectation. That's what they did with the car plates quite a while ago when they ran out.

Adding a letter rather than a number gets you a lot more combinations.

    You've forgotten the obvious...
    The next lot would be
    000AA 001AA
    ....
    000AB 001AB
    etc etc

According to my calculations there are over 60 million possible combinations of 5 digit plates, so don't get too worried.
