    Burga's back racing round 4.

Well I have been waiting a while to be able to type up this update but I am super stoked the day has come. I have now had my first day back on the bike here in America and it went great. The fourth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship is this weekend and its looking very likely that I will be racing. Since my last update I have had an up and down time with my recovery but all in all it went great and really quickly. I have been attending the first three rounds of the National series and have definitely been learning a lot.

The follow up appointment with Dr. Reimann went awesome and everything in my shoulder was where it was supposed to be. This has been by far the best recovery I have had from an injury over my career, having a surgeon that knows the ins and outs of our profession definitely made a difference.

Last week we left California and headed east, stopping at Texas for round three of the championship. We have now made it all the way across to Poland, Ohio which will be our home base for the next month. It worked out great that Justin McDonald has a friend in the industry who lives here and was happy to put us up so big thanks to him. From when we left California until now we have travelled a total of over 3000 miles/5000kms, let me tell you New Zealand is a pimple on the map in terms of size compared to America!

At this stage the plan of attack for the rest of the trip is to race High Point National round 4 this weekend, the following round is back on the opposite side of the country in Colorado so at this stage I don't think we will make it to that race as we simply can not afford to make it that far. We then have a weekend off and then there will be three rounds of the championship in a row so fingers crossed we can do all of those, I am especially looking forward to racing at the famous Red Bud track in a few weeks. We will be heading home at the very end of July unless we can find some support between now and then so everyone cross your fingers for me to get some solid results!

I look forward to sending out another update next week which will cover my first race in America. Obviously I am a bit down on bike fitness after my time off but i'm staying positive and if nothing else it will get my experience level up for sure.

    Until next time,

    Luke Burkhart

Allways hated RV, he thinks hes hot shit. I hate all riders who trash talk others and think they are the shit. Wankers.

RV has a mean attitude for an ulgy little ginga bastard, he was clearly the best guy out there this year though... Shame its all gone to his head.

dunno about dungey but him and Jason lawrence had major beef. I don't recon Villapoto is arrogant... definately confident but shit J Law is a right arrogant little cunt. And stewart has a major chip on his shoulder too.. he's got fuck all to prove 'cos he's the fastest of the american lot so i don't see why he has to talk himself up so much... I'd love to see more regular racing between the yanks and the euros 'cos i don't think stewart would be so dominant. Alessi seems like a nice dude and Dungey's down to earth as well i recon. Does anyone know what the prob is between MA and RV?

    but back on topic...

Good stuff for Luke. Wow that's a lot of pressure to perform in a short period or it's back home for him. Hope he finds some support

RV and Alessi have had issues for a long time, since they were racing 80's when Alessi's old man was hated by everybody, protests and bike strips downs, fights on the start line before fathers etc, its been going on a while,

and he is not glad he was injured, he is glad he won't win the title,

its not just RV who does not like Alessi, the rumour goes that the whole KTM team had a Party when alessi left, not so much for Mike, but since they did not have to deal with his old man anymore,

cheers for that Scott. Now that you mention it he does seem like the Kid who's been pushed to his limits and 'told' what to say and when. Dad must be a asshole

Yeah Mikes dad has a big rep for being an wanker, mike used to be alot like him in his younger days but apparently now he spends less time with dad he has changed heaps and isn't half bad. Check this vid out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng47iiLdWLQ alessi standing on tedescos bike so he cant get up and beat him for the championship, tedescos team mate comes by and sees it, turns around and comes back for biff. classic.
