That sucks. 300 metres and I'm straight into some of the best twisties in the country.... maybe that's my problem.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

one reason Tyres dont last long can be when the wheels are turning faster than the bike is moving

Agreed, but I'm not known for doing doughnuts, except in the wet when overtaking.

Hardly a problem eh.I was lucky enough to be born/raised at the beginning of the Hundaless (great bit of road in Nth Canterbury) with a motorcycle mad father, nearest cop was miles away so spent my time going nuts in the twistys on old dirt-bikes,many bikes used to pass through and as i was well versed on the road used to give many on some pretty sporty bikes (by the standards at the time) the hurry up.On more than one occasion got waved over on a straight by a Laverda (or similar) rider to have a yarn, there expressions at times were unforgettable when after taking my helmet off they were confronted with a 14 year old on a dirt-bike that had continually outbraked them through the tight stuff. Not to mention no licence/rego/woffuck not even a number plate.

Bit of throttle and judicious use of the bars in twisties

Practice & more practice then find a really good rider and tuck in behind them and learn their lines. But I warn ya.... tyres won't last long after that and it's harder to get your kicks.

Just be careful following a better rider "too hot" into a corner!

Or losing concentration and following a honda civic into a corner....
