If you were the biker who warned me today about the police sitting just on North side of Amberley, thanks mate. Much appreicated!
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ

I went to park in a pay-and-display carpark the other day.

    Didnt need to pay.

Someone had returned to their car, with half an hour left on the ticket and had put it in the coin slot to save the next joker paying.

Something I will do from now on.

I do that all the time. Got caught out the other day late for a dentist appointment and had to park in a $12 all day car park, gave the ticket to someone else who as pulling up just as I was leaving, they seemed kind of stunned by it...

Of course, if lots of people start doing it, they'll just add that the ticket is only valid for 1 car and start noting down license plate numbers vs ticket numbers...

Good on ya, mate! Pity there's always some uncharitable bean-counter ready to rain on peoples kindly deeds. May it be a case of what comes around, goes around!

A guy at my work collected a weeks worth of tickets from a pay and display machine. he just slapped them on his dash and cunningly left a really shitty greasy spot on his windscreen right above the ticket... made it near impossible to read anything but the the actual day i.e MON TUE etc... got away with using the same 5 tickets for a year before getting a $40 fine for having a 12mth old ticket displayed... we worked out he paid the $40 ticket but saved over a grand in parking alone!

All they would have to do is add in the terms and conditions that the ticket only applies to one vehicle and is non-transferable. I doubt they'd bother for the time-related ones, but the tickets where it is x dollars for parking all day or all night then they might... Easy way to make a bit more money to pay for that stupid pedestrian bridge thing in the viaduct...

WTF??? Are you working for the council or something??.....prove the ticket some kind hearted person passed on to me is not mine. Way too much effort and time wasted to catch, what I would say is a small minority, where all the big bucks are generated by expired tickets.
Jono, get your head outta ya butt.....it's just not practical.
