Proberly trying to keep unsprung weight down on moving parts, keeping piston weight down will proberly get that few extra RMPS over the compertion.

the other end of the arm dissapears into the crank case, i dont know how to get to it, where to look, or even how its driven
thats probably what will happen, pull the actaul pv crank out, this has the bolt in it, then see what it is and how to fix it, probably just drill the old one out, and put a regular bolt through instead of being bolted onto the pv crank. if you know what i mean
we may just go where no ones been

noobi any chance that that bolt has a left hand thread?

Yeah jt gettin ready to get her filthy again needed cleaning so I can change jetting without dropping mud inside.

Looking forward to the wires, i just wore singlet armor and riding shirt only got cold after we had been stopped standing around for a while. A spare pair off gloves would be good dont have any so may just have to try to keep my hands clean.
A tugger type thing is bloody handy if you dont have one saves putting your hands on dirty wheels/forks etc if you or someone else is stuck. front one takes 2mins and $2 tiedown to make

hittn sandpit thurs morning to test my jetting and some two man training

note also wore pants and boots

Ready for Wires now just went out the Sandpit and run her in a bit!

    Work done
08 Ktm 200 exc Recon motor: New piston, Rings, Gudgeon, Bearing etc. Set compression back to standard, Strip and clean Power valve, set power valve back to standard.
Strip clutch file slight burs off Clutch basket, Fibers measure ok, sand up steels as the look a bit shiny & one blued a little.
Strip out forks get Danger to take shim out of stack and drop oil 10mm to soften front a little chasing more plushness. Discovered jamming rebound valve during process Danger unjammed valve and reassembled.

That bloody Danger (Pro Ride Suspension) is a legend did all that above as part of the maintance and tuning. He's service is frickin brilliant!!!!!

Run in at sandpit only had time for 3/4 hour but all ok and pulling like a 14 year old school boy LOL!!!!

PS Lads its supposed to be fair pissing down all Friday, Sat and Sunday will Wires still be on?????

    sorry Honey LOL!!!

I was at Dangers getting my suspension done and didn't get there till about 3:30 so most of you had left by then. Anyway just chucked my gear on and headed out back to the road section to do a few run in runs up and down the road! then a loop or two of the convict and criminal.

    Next time!

Start a new thread Noobi this discussion will completely Hijack this one!

Why are you fooling with squish???
A new piston shouldn't change it at all unless you have machined the head or changed base gaskets?
To many questions to ask like does the Ec have an X measurement like the Ktm Exc which sets compression ratio's???

What you don't want is it to little squish and the piston smacking into the head at full or over rev??

How did you measure it. Solder down through the plug hole??

Squish is not a common Measurement they give out in the manuals either. Remember if you decrease or increase your squish you do the same to your compression!
    Mate we need more info!

    - bleed SpikedPunch's front brake. Huge improvement, damn it was spongy before.
    - checked SpikedPunch's 'race sag' and 'static sag'. Already about right.
    - checked sag on my KDX.
Race sag was about 75mm with me on it and about 5kg for gear etc I weigh about 75kg. Should be about 100-105mm from what I've read. Adjusted sag to 100mm. Checked 'static sag', about 35mm which is pretty much spot on. Should be 30-40mm from my documentation. Test it out tomorrow at the sand pit!

Yeah felt like it was better planted to the ground. The whole ride felt much smoother which has got to be a good thing.

On the down side it was less likely to launch over whoops etc as it felt more planted. But that just means I can go faster before getting air which will give me a bit more drive. Overall it was definitely an improvement.

Just need to do something about the front of this bike now...
