Try Leslie Road-off whites Road Putaruru-nice pumice-metal ride.No traffic and can loop onto Galaxy Rd and back onto Main Mamaku- Rotorua Hiway but you will like it that much that you will turn around and go back the way you came. Happy Wandering..Cheers.

The road behind Cambridge (more north than east from memory??) is Manugakawa road, and goes up to a telecom site known as Sanitorium hill. There is a park up there that you may be able to putt around, but I don't think it was designed for bikes, so may not provide much challenge for off road bikes. I have not been up there for some years though, so this may have changed.

There are some pretty good gravel roads out west, that are not as far away from Eureka as you would think. Raglan area is about 45 minutes from there, and Old mountain road is "on the way". I the direction you prefer, NZKTM has great suggestions.

If you get desperate for a small area to practice off road skills on let me know, as I have a small block of about 30 acres with some interesting hills that have some good places to practice technique on. On the way to Raglan again.

    Good luck

It would be really cool if we could pop out, there's actually 3 riders at least that have got adv style bikes and would like somewhere to practise. All are road riders but have no off-road experience so would like to practise riding up and down small banks, over lumpy ground and a gentle track or 2.
All are slow and steady rather than fast and furious riders so are looking for somewhere to potter rather than somewhere to rip up.
