    Crash up Sharlands on Sat

Wonder if there's going to be any fallout about this one.

Mr Hall said the accident happened about 4pm.

The 40-year-old Nelson man had been riding with a group of five others when he failed to take a corner and rode off the bank.

The rescue helicopter was unable to reach the area because of low cloud and mist.

A police officer and paramedic were taken to the scene by trail bike and other rescuers followed. They battled heavy rain to get the man up the steep muddy bank, with help from Nelson firefighters.

The man was taken to an ambulance about 6pm and driven to Nelson Hospital with multiple injuries.

Hope he's alright. It was slippery as 2 eels having a root in a bucket of snot so can see how it happened.
I had a moment where the back wheel slid out on pine needles & clay sending me up a bank & luckily back down it without a problem. May even have looked cool from behind...

Lets hope the forestry owners keep it in perspective.

that was nearly me on the Africa trying to lose Woodman over the Maruia saddle a couple of weeks ago...and was nearly woodman on the Big river ride...and is nearly any one of us most weekends...

except Joe & Nordie - they take it easy and are very responsible riders.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

Did the same thing same place same time yesterday. However I would have rather done that 5 times than try to get up the thigh deep mud slide WW made me go up. I think he was trying to break me - you know like officer & a gentleman - "I got nowhere else to go

Bloody good point , we should all stay home and do crochet or something, but then we might ger RSI.

And mate you did almost lose that beast over a very large bank, to get it back on line was pretty impressive.
