as a first bike it should be gixxer - as its more rider friendly
R6 is too tiny, and lacks low end so anyone who is heavier than 180lbs should consider Gixxer.

    d: None of the above.

Go supermotard or adventure bike - much more usable for NZ conditions

Hey mate just my opinion, I like the gsxr beter then the other two. Yam is too race orientated and dont like the new look kawa. Plus with the new gsxr you get to play with different maps at the flick of your finger But i ride a buell so you know
    new tire already

The R6 looks good . The CBR600RR handles well and has reasonable mid range. The new 09 ZX6R with the big piston forks handles much better and is easier to use. The GSX is bigger and more road orientated. Ride them all and see which one suites your riding style best. You will be hard pushed to reach the limit of any of the above bikes. Good luck and have fun.

What year? Are you comparing brand new 2009 models or second hand?

EDIT: See you mean new.. Well go ride the bloody things. You'll be surprised how different yet the same they all are. If you can't them apart after riding them buy the one you think looks best.

+1 for the triumph, try a street triple or daytona 675. you wont regret it. i was tossing up between what 600 to get till i rode the street triple, i couldnt even think of the others after that

The Honda would most likely have better build quality through and through - and it would need it since it's expected to be arse raped on a daily basis....
