I must say that I tempted to go for a 1000GSXR next time, but at my age (57) I am a little concerned that much power may get me into trouble. The SV has good power but comes on it much more controllable way.
I fanatize about GSXR1000 acceleration, what a blast aye!
Id probably ride in low mode all day , cant see the point in that though.
I feel that a 1000 GSXR is on my bucket list....very tempting

Go for it! My old boy has a gsxr1000 (ive borrowed it and its now in aussie) but he got his knee down at taupo and he is 57! He was running around taupo in the 1.45 bracket which is pretty fast

Far better hooliganism can be achieved on a motard - every set of lights you can wheelstand away, and not break the speed limit!, you can bounce up and down and around curbs and bus stops, do stoppies with ease and comfort, lock up the rear and swing it right round to do tight turns etc.
