    Shuffle selection gearbox

Well.... if the traffic wasn't bad enough yesterday, my gearbox decided to start playing up.

When I came home the day before yesterday I had a little trouble getting it into neutral, when I went to work it started off in first, then second as usual, then neutral (it decided that on it's own), from then on things went bad. On the motorway I was, and the bike was, changing gears on a random basis.

When I managed to get the bike home I found that the selector return spring had broken, unfortuneately the bit that had broken off was nowhere in sight, so I had to remove the oil pump to find it.

Now I have to find when I can get a replacement part .......... "Hello.. is that Japan.... "

I'm just glad it was something under the side cover.

    Bugger. Not good.

    Good luck getting it fixed.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    bum

The bit of the spring I found in the oil pump intake basket doesn't belong to the spring that broke! So now I find I have a nice little bit of high tensile steel floating somewhere in my engine... but that's okay, because I have a week to take it apart because they have to post the replacement spring from stralia and it's Easter didn't you know, and hey, we 'think' it will be here by next Wednesday.

At least when I am out with the family over the long weekend I won't have any regrets about not being able to ride my bike around like I normally do.

    Ouch.

    Dorkland parking is painfully expensive.

    Definitely.
One can never have too many bikes.

    Apparently.

But then what would I know - I've never had more than 2 bikes at once, and never more than 3 in my gargre, and only 1 of those was mine....
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...
