Based on the passage below, I would like to know what do you think is the age driving licence should be refused due to being too old to drive ?

I know someone learning to drive who got the peddles mixed up as well.

I think the normal testing system picks up those no longer capable of driving.

    > my age + 5 years.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

How old is too old to drive? ..........when your too old to handle driving a car and when your eyesight is going and your reflex's and reactions aren't as good as they use to be. It's hard to put an age on how old 1 should be when they should quit driving as some people over the age of 70 can be better than others of the same age. I think a manority of elderly drivers know that once their eyesight and reactions have gone that thats the time to give up driving.

Meh. i know of a chick who did exactly the same thing, and she was under 30.

    It's not cos they're old, it's cos they're women.

Solution is to ban automatic gearboxes, invention of the devil, and forbid women to drive. Shariah law FTW.

i think they/we need more testing like a quick door knock eye, ear, reflex, test
and if they get pulled over by coppas a quick qv to see if they have current orders in order
cant expect them/us to drive to the test can we?

In fact, at 35, everyone should be put into a sack and thrown into a river.

It shouldn't be based on age, it should be based on ability.
Reaction times and ability to make the right decision quickly should be judged every 5 years.

I think at her age the test becomes annual.

smart solution, yea thats right. women should stay home and be slaves. dont know why we bodder with all that equality thingy ... but seriously, arent we supposed to be of equal skill behind the wheel ?

All women I know that are bad drivers are such becasuse their male husbants always say they are crap and dont let them to practice. Also telling them that they are no good doenst do women any favour and there is no worse situation than no confidence. then mistakes are a certanty.

but back on the pint, shouldin't it be at least peiople above 70 get a physycal exam as well as a driveers one, how about a sanity exam ? some older falk I know are completely loosing their marbels in a matter of a years time. How long does a senior driving licence apply for ?

I know a few 80 years + drivers that could put a lot of younger drivers to shame.

My father-in-law last month sold his aircraft and surrendered his pilot's licence because he is going for surgery and feels he may not be fully capable after he recovers. He is aged 82, and can still outfly many youger pilots. I suspect he'll still be driving when he's 100.

As Slyer said, it isn't simply an age issue, but based on reaction times and current ability.
