XMX Street Bike. Whaddayareckin?

I'm pretty keen. Not being lulled into the ridiculous energy drink-like marketing hype from the site. But I do think it looks pretty cool.

Anyone seen these riding about? Anyone here own one? Anyone keen to buy my VFR so I have the money for one?

Perhaps I could be the Guinea Pig. Find out for you lot. I'd be doing a service.

I very nearly bought one last year with plans of buying a Chinese 110/125cc Honda copy motor for a transplant.

Can't say the stock 49cc 4 stroke would be too inspiring.

I wouldn't think so. I'd probably try an CRC/Nulon engine start injection system until the thing blew up, then go for a 80-125cc MX motor.

So they've been around a while then? Hadn't seen them before. Been looking at scooters since all my bikes are buggered.

I love the protective gear they're wearing in the ad....oh, and the fact that they "make you look good"...I've been worried about that..!

It's simply clutch plates at this stage. Will switch them over soon. Want to source an alternator side cover before filling it up with oil again. Also need chains, sprockets, tyres and forks seals. Whilst I have the front end and wheels off I'll paint them up. Also keen on doing the frame, which would be a good time to sort out valve clearances and the leaky cylinder head. Plus paint the head and side covers. The subframe might get cut off so my brother can weld up a new custom one.

The bike could be in the garage for a while.

Just using an excuse I can to get a scooter really. Always wanted one. And this one looks neat.

You've been worried too?!

Like I've always said when it comes to bikes. No point in showing off on them. The hot chicks on the side of the road can't tell whether you're a hot teenager or a balding old man.

So where does the XMX hail from? They don't advertise it loudly on the homepage that's for sure.

I loved the list of features:

So what does throaty mean? Guttural, husky or hoarse? It sounds un-healthy is that a selling point?

I love the laid-back term carby - when talking bike mechanics with my mates, not when reading about technical specifications.

Semi Auto Clutch - 4 speed manual gearbox - no clutch
lever to think about... just hit a gear, twist & go!

- being a 4 speed manual means you'll always have the right gearing at the right time... no 'bog down'!

Anything where I am not operating the clutch is not a manual!

Electric & kick start

...it allows us to tack another piece of shiny metal to an already tacky bike.

Alloy muffler with CNC muffler tip - get that 'big bike sound'!

Those computer numeric control muffler tips are very important. Can't wheelie without them... And big bike sound is, as always, just a matter of making small capacity engines be as loud and obnoxious as possible.

KMC chain

A TLA chain for a TLA bike - seems fitting.

Front & Rear hydraulic disk brakes

Unlike most other motor vehicles sold these days...

High quality 12" wheels front & rear

Dymag carbon fibre tubeless wheels? - didn't know they did those at 12".

Street tyres

Sounds like real quality rubber too on those quality wheels...

I think I would prefer a Yamaha Jog all things considered - either that or an actual pit bike.

Alright attempt but if I were going to get something like that I'd go a street magic. Had a ride on one and it was a total hoot. Was a bit gutless but better than what I thought.
