    6,000km?

With that much on the clock a 2fiddy sports bike would be just a little more than run in right? I'm only worried about the engine, and 6k is almost nothing right?
Oh and sorry, I couldn't find the thread that was on here about this sorta thing a while back...

    What is it you're asking?
''Is 6000 kms anything to worry about''?
    Yes, 6000 is nothing.

If its the 86' its now 23 years old, 6000 kms should not be the ture reading, but weirder things have happened.

If it's a jap import 250, I'd be more worried about that being accurate. Buy on condition, not mileage.

That's what I was asking... And what I thought when I saw the odo and the age.

He offered me a guarantee anyway so I'm not so worried now.

Jap bikes go and go and go. Hardly worth worrying about. Most of them do 100,000 km - just stay upright

Heh, well this one obviously wasn't!

At the moment it leaks oil, smokes a lot when you give it some (and not even that much) wrist, and on the last ride I took before I decided it needed some serious attention it was starting to look like it'd be overheating soon... that's with 70 on the clock.

Also there's heaps of obvious low budget bung up jobs, like smearing silicone over where I assume the oil is leaking from.
That, and all the plastics are held on by zip ties and bits of wire.

Go to carjam.co.nz and type in the rego, may give you an indication of whether or not the k's are true.

thats the sort of stuff to look at when you buy it, not the speedo

EDIT: reminds me of a mate who bought a gpx250 a while back for $600. he was going on about I payad to much for my zzr, well that gpx died within 6 weeks, ive put 14,000 on mine without a problem

I'd be turning that guarantee into a money back one !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Yeah that one doesn't have a guarantee... And as my first bike I knew it'd have a bunch of stuff I needed to fix, which is kinda why I got it, so I would have to learn how to fix bikes.

Did you not just say it had a guarantee?

Anyway, check out carjam.co.nz, put in the rego number, see if the k's are correct.

one downside to low kms on old bikes, is that alot of damage can happen if its been stored wrong for a long time.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
