Yeah thanks for that! After talking to you guys out there in the weekend I'm sort of thinking they're going to be expensive to fix, to lower. I'm going with the KX85! Looking on Trade Me now! Cool glad you've got sorted what you're after now the job of finding one suitable - normally they're miles away or overpriced or go bloody fast. All good though - i'm sure you'll soon have yourself a nice new bike to play on.

yeah isnt that why there was talk of bringing the 450s back to 350s in the AMA cause only a few riders can actually ride them fast! or be competitive at least.
RV was putting out faster lap times on the 250f than bubba on the big bike! thats the best comparison of all,rv has nothing on bubba now on the same bikes!

If you can afford it, buy new......especially if you intend to keep it for a while.....For me it's worth it for the peace of mind.....

Yeah know what you mean- had an old kx250 that i bought cheap that had a lot of nasty surprises inside once i opened her up.
Its the peace of mind when servicing a new bike that no other bastard has had their paws on.

Nothing wrong with second hand, just buy the cheapest you can't afford. LOL that is Boooms advice.

I've got a new bike, I've got new bike! Yeah got the last KX85, 2009 from Spectrum yesterday and ran it in at Woodhill! Now I need to learn to ride the bloody thing! Any tips? Yesterday I stalled it a few times on small woops, and found it hard to get started! Have ordered a heavier fly weight! Blood frustrating! I heard that new bikes need time to settle in! All tips appreciated! Sort of seemed to have too much power and then when needed not enough!!!!

Good on yah ride it more like all things it takes a bit of time to get use to them.

When you're not use to them there is a bit of an art to starting them - well for noobies. I use to have trouble starting mine - now i'm use to it i wonder what the problem ever was lol.
they're very easy to flood too so perhaps thats what's happening when your trying to start it?
The more you ride it the more you'll get use to it & adjust. Much different riding than a 4t.

Well it wasn't so much starting it, did that, and then stalled it. Then started okay, and then stalled again, and again, just trying to get out of the woops!! Technique I know, got to start again, patience and all that!!
