Gets the trusty blood pressure up that does![]()
My son used my old bomb a few weeks ago to sit his restricted car, and then followed up later that morning with his restricted motorcycle license. My old bomb had just passed a WOF so it was good to go. I had got him to check lights, indicators etc and all seemed good. We also got there early, and were just in time to see the fella before start his test. She checked all lights and then the horn. Opps, have not checked that. Got him to give it a test and no hornNot even a squeak! I leave him there and race up to the garage to get them to see if they can fix it for me. Guy gets in and it works
Then it doesn't, then it does. Oh joy, an intermittent fault, not something that can be fixed quickly.
Go back to the testing place and he says, I heard the horn, that is good. Got him to test it again and no go. Fuck! Fingers crossed is all I can say![]()
His test starts, I am inside with everything crossed and he gets to check the horn and it goes about 10 timesOff he went, and passed. An hour later he is back down there on his bike, L plate duct taped on and she checks his lights, his rear seems to only want to go sometimes
Far out! Oh well she says, we will do the test anyway. Off the go, he passed. She did comment that he needed to get it seen to as soon as possible. It is not a filament blown, it is not the brake light sensor, it is a gremlin in there somewhere. Aint electrics fun!
Congratulations on your pass too btw. Dont you dare burn that little gem of a bike, I may well have sold it from new![]()
Congrats![]()
LOL great story, those gremlins are bastards!
Probably helped actually as you are resigned to the fact you are gonna fail so the test seems like a walk in the park afterwards. The brake light is teasing me now by flickering every time I pull in the front brake lever...
