Top-end rebuild. Words of wisdom please!

I've done 93 hours on my 2008 KXF250 of mainly **girlie** trail riding, no racing...

I've noticed it's started blowing black smoke recently so should I have a top-end rebuild and does anyone have any recommendations on who I should go to?

I live in Auckland but happy to take to someone out of Auckland if they come highly recommended....

    Yep it needs doing.

Spectrum in takapuna, or Mr motocycles in Pukekohe.

Although its not as hard as people make out to do yourself

Spectrum, highly recommend. But make sure you book in. But as rupe said it isn't that hard. You just need the tools and the time.

4 strokes are very easy to rebuild we own a performance machine shop and work on high performance quad cam , multi valve , drag, boat, race etc and a 4 dirt bike engine is by far the easiest 4 stroke to rebuild,do not no why people make out they are hard maybe they blow it up because they need the work.

i really want someone to try the mitaka gear. - the prices are soooo good, but nobody i can track down has ever actually used it to vouch for it. i dont want to be the ginea pig, someone with a spare cyliner and an older bike should give it a go in case it goes bad

$130 for a top end kit = awesome

I got the RM kit from them, 200 for top end with gaskets and little end bearing shipped to my door. So far (30 odd hours) so good!
