    Opening up the WR

Anyone here with a WR250F know how I remove the snorkel to open up the airbox ??Want to start getting some more power out of it and I read on thumpertalk that this is a common mod, but if I'm looking in the right place then the battery is sitting in the way so if i removed the snorkel I would have to relocate the battery somewhere else ( which for me is easier said than done, I'm not the most mechanical person ), anyone....help...please.

The snorkel sits behind the battery, the battery is not removed when you remove the snorkel. If it is there it should pop out using vice grips or similar. You can also make it breath better by cutting out some holes on the airbox right hand side (opposite side of the airbox cover). There are three cutout marks there to make it the same as the YZ. If you do a lot of river crossings I would leave the bottom one uncut. Other than that cut (or unplug) the grey wire under the right hand side of the tank. After this you will probably need to think about re-jetting. I got a JD jetting kit in my '05. I have a spreadsheet somewhere with all the 05 and 06 jetting details from the thumpertalk jetting thread, let me know if you want it.

brilliant K6K, I will open my eyes next time , I had a quick look and didn't realise that the snorkel was seperate to the part the battery sits in, looked a though it was joined to it, cheers for the picture mate !!!
I've disconnected the grey wire so all good there
And if you find that spreadsheet with the jetting details that would be great, thatwas next on my to do list.

The spreadsheet is my notes on what other people are using, let me know if any columns or abbreviations are unclear. I am the last one on the list as I was running before I put in the JD jet kit.
