Well, this time next week aye, we'll be into it.
Suppose I better start the bike prep too.
Change tyres, check oil, brake pads, chain, sprockets, cable fray etc.
Just printing the roll chart now.

Yes, get into it...
I did my oil and filter this morning. The clutch cable is a brand newie, the bags are packed and I have prepared a couple fo TV dinners for the ride down. The roll chart is in the 'click clack' and the route is one the GPS too.
I got two new Heidenau tyres not scrubbed in yet, but these will be fine by the time I hit the roads south. New sprockets front and rear and the original wheel back on the bike and looking good. The cush rubbers a little worn is all and these will be replaced sometime soon. I am really looking forward to this as it is my first time in the South Island on the back of a motorbike!
Better check you have tire repair kit as I don,t ha ha don,t go too fast and I ll try to keep up as I have no roll chart or gps so I ll need to follow some one as I don,t think I can keep up with cynna......
Come on man, get organised....Print out a roll chart and buy a tupperware container...![]()
Geez Kenny.
I was going tio say Cynna is easy to keep up with, or catch up to. I've seen him stop once or twice on a trip to lie down and wait. Then again you might not catch up as you can't catch up when lying down on the job yourself. lol.

you will be able to keep up kenny - im just worried about how im going to keep up with matt on orari ride
practiced falling off in a puddle at the waimak today so hopefully thats my last crash for the next week or so
the roll chart holder is easy enough to make. i just got a click clack type pottle from the supermarket, a couple of long bolts as rollers, drilled a few holes and cable tied it on
Hey, we could play a new game... lead Kenny in to the middle of no where then loose him.
Oh now that's just mean.
You know you'll be fine as most the two dayers seem to ride as a group anyway.

Lets call it "Who killed Kenny" !
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to much room!
Life begins where your comfort zone ends!
I spent ages looking for a container the right size. Found one but its a bit big then spent a wee while making the rolly bits out of an old alloy footpeg and a guitar string tightener thingy to turn it. needs more work so will either make a simplerer one or just follow the fast guys tracks.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Drill some holes in container, stuck 8mm dowel through. Slightly drill then glue drawer knobs on to one end of dowel and simply taped each side to stop dowel falling out the holes.
Also added some tent pegs cut with straws over to make rolling easier.
The whole thing is friction based to stop it unwinding so I roll the bottom roller to give slack to the chart then roll the top roller to move the chart on.
Tieing the two knobs together didn't work for me no matter how I did it as one end always has more of the roll on than the other. Feel like this has all been typed before.
It's my mk1 holder been with me since the first roll chart adventure years ago.
Note: tape the lid on of loose it sooner or later.
Container size shouldn't be too hard to find. I know they don't do the best sized click clacks anymore but surely you could get anything the right size and tape on a home made perspex lid.

my container was a bit on the large size but it did the job
I gues i went a bit overboard
getting the motor to work properly took some sorting
Had to remove the rear tanks today as the fuel pump i've got won't do the job, a few extra stops prob won't hurt anyway in the scheme of things.
