Last time through there I had a pretty close call with a very large very agressive bull, so not so keen to rip through solo. I went out Crikelwood road to try and find an old bridge I remember from when I was a kid, but it is gone. Criklewood road is pretty fresh gravel through to Limestone valley.

Any issue with a late entry? I am likely in the district this weekend, and would be keen to tag along. I don't do navigation, but I can follow others OK...

And seeing Benmore spilling close up is pretty spectacular. Saw it at a hydrological society conference a few years back. Seriously cool.

only thing that springs to my mind rogerh is wether you are doing the one or two day version and whether you are booking your own accommodation vs hoping that there are still vacant beds within existing arrangements (I suspect there is).
Also are you wanting to get in on food at the BBQ at the Gladstone on Friday where a kind of briefing wil be held?

Answering those questions may help cooneyr when he goes to reply.

I am more into cruising, and enjoying the country going past, so the two day is good for me. Have never riden most of the counrty, but have taken rental cars and 4WD's across some of it (not saying which bits in what vehicle, or I may not be able to get a rental in the district again....)

With accommodation, I can do either, and if there is none, I would bring a tent, but if some is available I will use it, and if it is not too late to book, i will try and get to the bbq as well

Lucky timing. I'm about to ring to confirm numbers for the BBQ list. There was one spare bed at the Gladstone pub on the Friday night (yours now) and there were four spare spaces at the camping ground lodge in Alex (now three - one is yours).

Costs are - BBQ is $10, Gladstone BnB is $35, Alex Bed with linen is $30, and $10 for access to private tracks.

    Cheers R

P.S. thanks for prompting the questions TA.

Wish you all an enjoyable ride

I would like to wish all the participants an awesome ride especially the Good Keen Men doing the small bore challenge.

Shame I can't be there myself but I'm sure I'll hear all about it.
    Cheers,
    Colin
