Great coffee offer, thanks Bruce. Milk and sugar for me please.
As Ryan suggested we can text ahead but I suspect the riders could be strung out - how long can you hang around?

Maybe it would be better to get XF650 or TA to give you a text when they leave Ranfurly. They will be a couple of hours getting from Ranfurly to the lake.

Actually them being a leisurely lot they would probably really appreciate the coffee too!

Thanks for that - that would be a nice civilized time for us to get over there and set up !!! Spread the word that we will be somewhere over there - I've got friends with one of the fishing huts at the village so depending on the day annd if they are there we might set up there , otherwise I'll find another spot. I will put some sort of sign up on the road.

Ride safe guys and have a heap of fun - take it easy on that high altitude stuff - its likely to be very slippery clay in quite a few places (= good front tyre and the right pressure) at the moment

Stuff that, it's a two day ride doing only about 600km on day one. Why the heck would I want to be leaving before 7:30am ??? or 7am at a push.

I'm not saying I want a sleep in, just don't want to be trying to get up in the silly hours.

I'll let everybody know at the briefing to keep an eye out for the coffee guy at the huts.

Now why am I not supprised to see a post like that from you

Both you and XF make a good point though - varied starting hours and spread out so potential for a wide range of arrival times. I still can't see anybody getting there before about 1300 at the earliest but they still may be going through at 1700.

The blue 450g aerosol ABC type came from Fitness Hire (member razzel1 on TradeMe). The red 'Fire Exit' and the TUNDRA Fire Suppressant are available in Mitre 10, Mega, Placemakers, Bunnings and Briscoes stores. All are $20 - $25. (text and image stolen from 4skins CCA website).
got mine from bunnings - think it was $29. not too heavy and fits in the backpack quite nicely. got an aerosol one rather then the other nozzle type which looked like it could get knocked off quite easily in my bag

all packed and ready to head off in the morning. hope its not going to be as wet as it was coming back from the prerun....

What time are we congregating at the Gladstone?

I had forgotten about doing the Orari ride, guess I have missed that one now. Nevermind.

looks like you might have to change the name from Dusty Butt to Muddy Butt,

but on a good note the rain has stopped for now anyway
