Mine, new as of today.. 2kms on the clock. I'm so stoked.. aside from having to deal with a break in period.

I tend to buy used. Saves the thousands lost as you wheel it out the door.

I've only ever bought new bikes! First up was the Suzuki RG150 in 1998, then the BMW F650CS in 2002, and the Suzuki Goose SG350 in 2005.
The first bike scared me a little as I was just learning to ride, but once I mastered it I loved it and had shitloads of fun on it.
I adored the F650CS and did 1200kms on it the first week I had it, but lost my confidence once we moved to a place with a steep driveway and narrow exit, so I sold it.
The Goose is fine, but since I got the Corvette (I know, twice as many wheels as it should have!) I rarely ride it so it's up for sale now. Not sure if I'll buy another one, depends on what I find out there. Maybe a small dirt bike or something dual purpose.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
I see you haven't discovered the cost of tyres, gas and servicing that come with riding for fun...... Let alone throwing trackdays into the mix. You also forgot to throw in all the gear you've paid for over that time.
Getting a bike isn't cheap overall (unless you just compare the cost of commuting). But it's sooooooo worth it anyway![]()
I tried not to over think it. I stay happier that way.Dude, I whole heartedly agree, soooo worth it anyway.
I looked at the price of new bikes these daysKinda reminds me of houses. If you haven't already got one, how the hell do you afford it.
Back on topic though, second hand, new, what ever. So long it’s different (in a good way) from the last one I'm sure I'd be just as happy.

Never had the money to buy new after that one,and as I only ever pay cash it's been 2nd hand ever since then.
The Beemer I bought few weeks ago is approaching six years old and is the newest set of wheels I have ever owned (aside from the 10 speed my parents gave me when I started High School).

Have had a few bikes over the years (50 odd) but my first new bike wasn't until '05 when I bought a K4 GSXR1000.
Since then...

My first bike was a Suzuki GS500E - great bike. And yeah, it felt awesome to buy it brand new. My second bike was the SV650s - hardly run in at 1800 km on the clock, so near new - and once again, felt great to have a bike only 9 months old....
I have bought a few bikes over the years and recently bought my first new bike
Im not bothered if I ever buy new again.
Hated the break in period of 200 hard km
Either I have done really well buying second hand over the years or buying new is over rated and expensive![]()
