Then they wouldn't insure the bandit because I'd been on my full less then 2 years!! Finally when they did deign to quote us for the 3 bikes we told them to bog off as Vero (who we ended up going to for the GN insurance) quoted us heaps less. We've been very happy with Dave Golightly and would recommend him to anyone.
Insurance companies are weird beasts, AAI and Vero are owned by the same parent company.

Don't go through a normal insurance company - it will cost you the earth. I have both mine insured with Classic Cover. They are very reasonably priced and I have never had any problem with them - except you do need to be over 30 ( I think).

I went with NAC. Very good price and service.

    Most on here say Kiwibike.

Don't go with ebikeinsurance. They are offer crap service, 11 months for the price of 12, and have a shitty financial rating.

I've got my bike insured with State. Just told them that it was a 1300cc Suzuki and they thought i meant a slow car.
I've had 2 claims through them but been with them for 15 years now so have a 65% no claims for life.
They said i have so much ass crack that i could be a dealer

    Insurance is like air

You dont put much thought into it until you dont have any....

    I am with AMI
Learner Rider 1987 GPX insured for 3000

for a nice low $19 dollars a month
my car costs the same, so cant really knock em there.

being over 25 is a good thing!

Alot of the insurance companies might not insure you unless you're bike is locked in a garage at night.
AA wouldn't insure me becuase of this (its kept under a car port)

Went with NAC who are reasonable.

Hey, this has been done a thousand times:

    John Baker
    Kiwibike
    NAC
    AMI

Are all good players however you need to find out which will give you the best quote. A quick KB search will give you some better info.

FWIW & IME - Avoid eBikeInsurance like the plague.

    Good luck.

I had issues with AMI, I even have a thread in here detailing what happened if you take a look.

I'm with kiwibike now.......and if you look around you will see (as far as i'm aware) not a bad word about them.....

Stay away from swann insurance !!

I was with SWANN for 3wks before being rode off the rode by an old guy who wrote my bike off. Filled out a claim form, gave them photos of my bike and the police report. Took them 3weeks (after ALOT of phone calls seeing what was happening) for them to FINALLY get the police report. Goto the police station and they say they haven't heard from them :S Give them a ring and for some reason they sent the check to Waikato when I'm located in New Plymouth. Takes them a week to send me the forms saying I can get a payout, but on the paper work my names spelt wrong and it says the bike was written off before I even owned it O_o !

VERY disappointed with this company and would DEFINATELY not recommend them ! Go with the big insurance companies that everyone's heard of I'd say. Good to hear what other riders recommend as I'm gunna get another bike sooon

    + 1 for NAC,
Includes Roadside assist, riding apparel cover (depending on which cover you get).
    Claim service excellent.
    Premiums fair.
