Damn Disc locks, (Also in need of a mechanic)

Any one here forget to remove their disc locks?
Well just got back from being towed home after doing just this. Now I have a broken mount point for the calipers, Hopefully the calipers and disc are ok.

Does any one here know a site that has the parts list for the F650 so that when i go looking for a replacement i can give them the actual part number.

And the worst part about all this is last night my car lost all its coolant so it too had to be towed home.
I hate being with out transport of any kind. Kind of need regular transport for work.

I'm sure the bike was jealous of the car being brought home with out having to work so He too wanted to ride on the back of the truck.

Any who I am wondering if there is anyone out there who can help me get both the car and the bike back up and running. IE I need a mechanic!

    Please help.

Can't help with the mech bit - but made sure that I bought a disk lock with the day glow bunge cord, that I attach to the front brake lever, so I've never been tempted to move while still attached.

Sorry, can't help you out with parts or mechanic but, done the same thing myself..... snapped speedo cable, sheared off part of the caliper. Had to get the whole thing replaced. I posted on here too and, got many many posts about others having done the same thing....... so, if it makes you feel any better, its not uncommon.

Plus one for the day glow stretchy cord. Bummer kasper, cant offer any real help.

I do know a bloke though who did a really spectacular off on his bike due to leaving his disk lock on if that helps. Hope you did not hurt yourself.

Hopefully you can get some transport sorted quickly.

    Frosty and Millars.

Think they're open as soon as Frosty has woken up. So just wake him up.

    I've got a car that I, frankly, don't use.

Tip for thse without the reminder bungee cord - place lock on your disc as close to the caliper as possible thus allowing almost no rotation of the wheel, should save this issue and the dropping of bike issue other have done with forgetting disc locks. Make sure you are on the left of your caliper otherwise the wheel will turn full rotation before stopping.

Yep I think i will be doing that in future.

I had it at the far side at the top by the fairing to allow for the most sensitive setting of the alarm on the disc lock but for some reason the alarm only activates about 25% of the time, so I should really put it where it will do the least damage.

The disc lock does a great job though its jsut the alarm that needs work.

p.s. Does any one want any pics?
