    Question Spell checking in forums

I keep making spelling mistakes, and I know there are a couple of people who seem to enjoy highlighting every spelling error.

I use the light universe. Does the forum system have any kind of spelling checker built in?

I already use Firefox. I didn't know there was a spell checking plugin. Will go research it more.

Umm....there is actually a down loadable spell check module (iSpell) - click the ABC with the tick under it on right hand upper side of reply box.
It's a one-time download the first time you click it and then it works everytime you click the ABC in future.
Alternatively if you don't want to download it you can just cut and paste your post into their website: http://www.ispell.com/

I have it sussed now. First download a dictionary (I used British English) from here:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3

Then when in a dialogue box that has more than one line of text right click, and make sure "Check Spelling" is enabled.

I see the catch. This option only appears if you are using Internet Explorer. I think I'll stick to the built in plug in that Firefox has.

Yes, I should have mentioned it's an IE thing only - but as you have since found Firefox has that nice wee plug-in. I run IE and Firefox for different uses as they both have their good and bad points.

Anyway, let the good diction begin....

OK, I'll bite.... I've got some ideas regarding the real meaning of those initials, though I'm sure they are all entirely incorrect. Would you care to spell it out for us uninitiated Mr Hitcher?

for those using Opera Internet browser, the beta version of Opera 10 is out, has automatic spell-checking, no plug-ins required (though NZ english isn't an option). Though being a beta migrating over to it takes some doing.

See no spelling mistakes, gah, fuck, cant access the smilies in this beta
