Well 1 year and a harf on and the cordura is no longer "100%WATER PROOF" I can vouch for this as on Sunday I took a jaunt up to Puhoi.
Great bit of road up there now and the toll? what toll.
Anyway, gear that was as advertsied a little over a year ago as 100% waterproof is definitely NOT Water Proof anymore.
Boots that have never leaked before in a similar life span and that get dubin and boot polish on a regular basis also leaked, big time.
Tyres and pressures all good, tread Ok. Bike on song and even with a Horizontal storm coming at me from all sides in the new gulleys they've made up there the ride was still awesome.
Yep July in Dorkland, can't say I'll miss it when it's gone.
Good reminder about gear though Klingon, a bit more dubin and some good old snow stuff and the gear and boots will be 100% again.
Meet up with another hardy KB at the Puhoi Hostilery we told each other we were mad! barking mad and then went our seperate ways.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

I swapped the fun of the ridiculous amounts of fucking rain we had in Auckland last July - 22 days out of 31 from what I remember - to ice on the roads in Taupo. I've already been for one rear wheel fishtail due to hitting black ice on a roundabout. Fun fun fun.

still remember those. army coats from the ary surplus store.

    newspaper works well.

i got caught out with the cold a few months ago. stuffed some paper down my jumper. and bought a black sac rubbish bag. cut a hole in the top for my head and 2 holes for my arms.
    looked stupid..

As ugly as it sounds those old wharfy yellow coats and pants are the business in the wet, visible and dry as. Plus you can wear your warm stuff under it.
