I thought your story went... Once upon a time there was a LITTLE boy...

I have been working from home for about 11 yrs now.
The saving in cost and time is huge.
Interestingly I found the problem was the opposite. I didn't piss around or procrastinate and worked looooong hours because it was so easy to do so.
It took about 6 years and a lot of discipline to get to the stage I am now where I will skive off.

Mate My advice for what its worth. Make a CLEAR line. THIS is my work and This is home. You have your office which is great so ok that office is WORK. Its not so much for you --although it does help with your personal setup-- its more for the little people around you.
I made it really clear to my guys.--Daddy n mummy in the office are at WORK. if you need us then we will come HOME to help with homework n stuff. Yea like you home is 20 feet or so from work.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

I love working from home. I get 2 for the price of one for each hour I spend working at home. I don't usually do more than one day per week because I like to keep across the buzz in the office.

Been working in Wellington so much recently that working from hotel and remote office has taken over.

I guess it depends on how involving the work is - sometimes when I was programming I'd get heaps done.

If our Computer Dude would give me the proper instructions for remote desktop access, or the company makes my new PC a laptop, I'd work from home whenever I have 'serious thinking' work to do, as the orofice is too noisy with people talking to each other.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I often go several 18 hour days in a row without even going outside. Work-sleep-work. Rotating shift. Get ahead of the game.

Then when the sun comes out and its a nice day - whoooshka.
