any brand new bike that only has a 3 months warranty for parts has got to be pretty suspect.

Another Chinese import by the looks of it. I'd suggest getting a late model Jappa.

A mate of mine bought a brand new Chinese bike as a commuter over a second-hand Jappa and now regrets it. And the Chinese bike was a brand now well established in NZ - Lifan.

It's a BMW F650CS.....that the Chinese copied, and didn't pay BMW a cent for all their hard work.

I've heard a few reports praising the 250 Cruiser so have to take your word on that, the bike my mate bought was, I think the 150cc sports bike. He's had a few issues with it.

I wouldn't trust one myself however we do need to remember that there was a time when everything that came out of japan was cheap crap that fell apart after short time.

If the Chinese are starting to improve on quality then that has to be a good thing.

My wifes 2008. TLC 250LF = Lifan cruiser has not yet done 600 K's it's a bloody marveleous bike.
I can tell you that on the motorway it's more than capable of getting to and or exceeding by days the legal limit.Thats without making it work too hard, I'm being kind to it at the moment just in case running in is still a good idea.
She has ridden it on road for the first time recently and really enjoyed herself.
The bike is well made, doesn't rattle, and rides superbly.
Our investment was a good one and this little machine will do her for the foreseable future, well, till she gets the bug at least.
I can't say what the ? sports Lifans are like but I've seen a few of these cruisers and the owners have all reported favourably, Lifan, Keeway, TLC are all made by Lifan and badged differently.
Having given the buggers (Lifan/TLC, Keeway Cruisers at least ) a glowing reference that thing above looks weird as and I'd still be taking Mom's advice!
Every day above ground is a good day!:

I ride a Kymco "venox" 250. Kymco is a Taiwanese scooter company and the Venox is the only motorcycle they make. Against some advice I went ahead and got it anyway.......
From my learners through to my full licence 40,000 kms later, it has never missed a beat and, I can't fault it at all. For learning on and commuting 5 days a week to work and back its been absolutely ideal.

Haven't had anything to do with Kymco but Taiwan are usually up with the rest of the world in quality these days. When I worked for Sulco the Taiwanese tools were very good as long as you got the quality brands. Like everywhere I guess you can get cheap "quality" as well as good.
