Weight issue is a biggie with the 4t & chicks i think.
You will have fun on a 2. No where near as scary as many pple make out. we had more pple telling us that they are no good to learn on & that they'd put me off bikes for life than pple saying good things about them.
So glad we didn't listen & i got mine.
Yeah Im sure I will manage, the powerband thing did give me a wee bit of a fright every now and then, caught me out once and ended up doing some wierd wheelie jumpy thingy over a bank ahhaha but Im like not majorly worried, and yeah if I do end up really really hating it I can always sell it no harm done...
"Lean like a cholo, side to side"
"Just get a GN250 and put offroad tyres on it"
Don't stress about this getting you feet on the ground bit, I can just tip toe on the 200 and on the 990 can only get one foot down.....if I stuff that one up it gets painfull really fast!
As long as one foot ends up on the ground, that's all you need, once your moving (and that is the idea, right?) your feet aren't supposed to be dragging along beside you. Just practise starting and stopping with one foot down, I've always ridden that way and thats been 30 odd years...I haven't died yet.
yeah i agree with crisis - i am 1.65cm and although i have had the springs in my RM125 changed to match my weight (thanks to danger) - i definately don't have both feet on the ground when sitting and i get on fine... the best thing i ever did was take the leap from my DRZ125L to the RM125... haven't looked back... and the powerband - it's all part of the fun and you quickly get used to it...
Nail on head --What happens is as confidence and experience grows the smaller the bikes feel.
Young william is now 5 feet tall and is only one foot on the ground on his KX85 but he's happy as a sandboy. Actually I chucked him on the 125 honda and he was fine on that too.
Sammykins I kinda thought about this with you over the weekend and I do wonder if you shouldnt give a kx125 a bit of a squirt and see how ya feel. Its actually not that unpleasant burbling along at low revs and the real kick doesn't come till ya give its neck a bit of a wring.
All I'm suggesting here is give it a burst
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
