    Vids from 3 hour X-Country...

Up Pig Valley in Wakefield (Nelson) a couple of weeks ago...
Almost a complete lap of the track.

The battery died in the vid camera and I had to use the still camera's video mode for the last clips...

Awesome vids, thanks for sharing, I need to get out for a ride
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Got 3 batteries for the vid camera now.
A waterproof camera gives you much more confidence out on the track.

    Hira 3-Hour XC

Round 4 of the 4 round Nelson Club Champs.

50 odd riders on the day.
Each loop was 45km and took from 50min for the fast guys to well over an hour for the "slower" riders...

I'd find a cool place for some footage and 10mins later no-one had come past

Little bro (also the event organiser) had problems starting the KDX (with 1 yellow handguard) and was in about 20th off the line but in 4th by the time he got to me. Ended in 4th outright and 1st in class.

Friday night I was busy creating all the certificates for the prizegiving...
Then we had to get 28 A4 picture frames at short notice. Cheaply...

great vids mate nice to see what they are doing on the mainland !! LOL!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

There was quite a bit of singletrack and downhills I didn't get footage of.
I missed one of the big downhills because I'm a wimp and had no rear brakes and was squeezing the front so hard I thought the cable was going to break and it wasn't enough. Engine braking was more effective.

There'll probably be no footage of the 6-hour next month as I hope to be racing in a team with the bro-in-law. Me on the 79 XR250 and him on the 81 XR250

Not sure if I should get new shoes or truck material bonded to the old ones.

If you get new shoes make sure you get sprigs in them to help with the downhills. I find Leki poles also help take weight off the knees

That lil bro of yours wasn't hanging around was he...
