Not enough bike parks?

So who has written to their councils about this? It just might have some effect... I wrote to Tauranga council suggesting that the toll road (route K) be free for bikes. Apparently (I like to think!) they liked my reasoning and made it so.
I also congratulated them on the excellent m./c parking in Tauranga CBD, but pointed out that there was nothing in Mt Maunganui. And now there is.
The above was covered in a 2 1/2 page letter, not just a quick 1 line whinge. Give it a try - all you've got to lose is a 45c stamp.

Bike parks??? Isn't that what the footpath is for?? I have never had a car reverse into my bike when parked on the footpath.

Actually, here you're more likely to get it knocked over by some wanker on a pushbike or a skateboard if you park it on the footpath.
