Why not spend $5K on a Ducati 600ss?

I'll be upgrading soon so my '92 CB400/4 will be up for sale. 58000km with plenty of life left in it yet. Only really decided on the upgrade this weekend so haven't got a price in mind yet but it'll be under $4k. (The heated handgrips will be great for those frosty Dunedin mornings!)

best bet would be to get around the bike shops and test ride few different bikes, just to give you an idea of what you like and dont like. im not sure of the prices, but the sv650 arnt a bad we toy. also maybe if you wanted somthing with a bit more power have a look at somthing like a zxr or gsxr750's, there is usually a few of them on tardme at a good price.

hmmm, there are quite a few options out there in that price bracket! go ride a bunch of different bikes, narrow your list down then pick something. You got any idea on preferences? what else have ya ridden?
