Can anyone explain why this R1 is worth over 30k? All I see is a paintjob and an aftermarket exhaust? A stock standard 2010 example from the same dealer is worth 23k.
Am I missing something? White Trash?

What the fuck... usually only $2k extra for Rossi paint scheme and even that is over priced.
The funny thing is most of these bikes sit on the showroom floor for ages and end up being sold at less than the price of the standard model.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.
It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
Under the agreement VR has with Yamaha, they are not allowed to sell them after June 2011, theoretically............so I would've thought they'd be priced to sell....they are a nice bike, and do attract attention, but $31K is ridiculous
"If you haven't grown up by the time you turn 50, you don't have to!"
The thing that puzzles me is that surely Rossi doesn't race an R1. Don't they have a superbike rider whose name should be on it?
Though I guess the fact that I don't know who it is might be the reason ...
Richard
that's one fucking ugly bike
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.
no all good
the bike is 23 the multipoint is 2k and the rego takes it to 30 995
cant see the problem with that

ps .least Dick Turpin was honest and up front with his demands

Wonder if the seller will consider swap with a coffee machine that I have (the same one they use at McDonald's) with $4k his way?
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
I like it, but no where enough to part with $31k. $25k maybe as a new bike. Quite like the short pipe as i'm not a big fan of under seat zorst's.
The pipe is a $3700 option....it's only $28000 without it.

Hah ha, that's just silly money money.
overpriced (alot) and overrated
I call it like I see it. Don't take it personally.
Possibly, my lopsided friend.
Firstly, it's not just a Fiat rep, it's a Factory Rossi rep. There are 7 in the country, one for each of his world championships, and obviously there'll never be another one offered.
The Yamaha pricing on them is $27,000, we've added a full Graves GP system at a cost of $4K.
See it now?
Also bear in mind that the normal price for a '10-'11 R1 is $24,500 + ORC. It's not that much of a premium over the stocker. I reckon it's fucking gorgeous but would never be seen dead riding it.
As for selling for less than the stock model, Gareth, I seriously doubt it mate. Stew doesn't actually want to sell it, part of the reason for the $31K tag
I like the fact that people are looking at our bikes though, cheers guys![]()

Really? Over rated?
Cast your mind back to 2009. A championship rookie, in the development year of a brand new model and indeed concept, won said world championship and set the most pole positions on an R1.
Locally, a Wanganui rookie this year took the feature race against the best and most experienced street racers NZ has to offer. He's currently running with a(and beating) the best on the least modified bike in the field in our NZSBK champs. Still got stock suspension FFS.
Over priced? Quite possibly. Over rated? I very much doubt it.

$4,000 for an exhaust is ridiculous. I don't know why anyone would pay that much for an exhaust on a road bike.
