    Parapara Loop

Went for a wee pootle today (557km's) around the Parapara Loop (New Plymouth - Wanganui - Taumarunui - New Plymouth)

Great day, bloody cold most of the way (surprise surprise) and the road's in pretty good nick.

Apart from ice/grit on most corners that hadn't seen the sun from Wanganui to National Park, a few road works throuh the Parapara's (one by one they are taking corners out to make it straighter) and fog that stopped the sun and what little heat there was penetrating to the earth below it heading into Taumarunui, the rest of the trip was a breeze.

All the mountains looked resplendent with Ruapehu particularly majestic in the sunshine.
It's been a while since I was over that way and forgot how much of the landscape it actually takes up!

The cool dense air sure does make the bike sing a lovely tune

And the weather is meant to be fine tomorrow here too...

A great ride! Some of my favouritist North Island roads make up that loop. And it's a great time of year to be out riding.
