    49 or 50t?

    hi all

sprockets will be due soon for my 07 300exc

at present am running 14 50

what are you other 300 riders out there using?
    i cant decide between 13 50 or 13 49

am i right in saying that a 14 50 is equivalent to a 13 47? i.e 1 tooth on front for every 3 on the back?

im thinking that 13 50 may be too low and 13 49 could be a good compromise?
any thoughts? what would the top end speed be with 13 50??

    cheers

just done a few calcs and

    13 49 final ratio is 3.77
    14 52 is 3.71

    very similar

apparently having the 14 52 makes chain sprcokets etc last longer?
this could be the way to go!

but may increase the rear chain slider wear rate?

Whats the main riding you do? , with the weather in winter and more wet/mud riding you want it geared to help traction , 13 /50 will have it reving higher, better suited in dry conditions with good traction, and a tighter track , more low/mid snap 13/49 would be better for more open stuff and not compromise top to much. do you run a flywheel weight?

I run 13 50 combo on my 300.Bloody brilliant in the tight stuff but tapped out in the open to 80k roughly. It suits the majority of riding I do.Far better than the stanard 13 48.
A 14 on the front does give good chain wear due to chain turning in a larger arc than a 13 and espeicaly a 12.I have used 12's but find I'd use 2 for every rear sprocket.Waste of time really.
