I've been looking a lot at Trade Me and at dealer sites over the last week looking for my next bike. There are only a few models that fit my somewhat unadventurous needs, one of which is the Suzuki GSX 750 F Katana. I have noticed however that there are quite a few of the 2008 model of these around for about $8500 which I reckon is cheap. Is there anything wrong with these which makes people want to flick them off so quickly?

No problem with them at all. Just old stock, discontinued model, bought into the country from Europe. KiwiKat has one. Very good bang for your buck. Look after it and you should get 150,000kms plus without any major issues.

Now I understand. Katana's have pointy agressive front ends. 'Teapots' have soft smooth rounded front ends (like breasts sort of).

Arguments about whether or not they're truly "Katanas" notwithstanding, the Suzuki 750 in question is a great bike. Spending a couple of thousand on brakes, suspension and a safer exhaust makes them an even greater bike.

If you're going to get one, Oakie, try to get hold of an Aussie spec example.
There are lots of US spec ones about, and they are a bit restricted in their carburation

Haha! Aussie spec (E24) will have a natural finish alloy VIN plate on it.
If it still has the warning decals on, it will have an "Unleaded Fuel Only" sticker on the tank
