Can the Police here access your licence details even before they've seen your card. Just wondering if the LTSA database is accessible by the cops in cars. Not up to anything illegal just wondering??

And standard procedure is to run your name through to comms, which then brings up your details, and previous naughty stuffs.
My friends grandfather always had the scanner on in the lounge (nosey old people). One day said friend got pulled over, (meanwhile, grandfather is listening eagerly). When he got home, a serious heated conversation began as to why he had flybys points on his licence.
Well, the question is not always straightforward.
For example, a company car can have many drivers. So having a registration tells you nothing about who is driving the vehicle.
If they knew sufficient about you (such as your name and address) they could look up the details before seeing your drivers licence.
I got a speeding ticket a few days ago but didn't have my licence with me. The cop just went back to the car and ran my details so as to get my licence number for the ticket.
Don't know if that answers your question. If it does, the fee for doing so is, erm, $120.... ;-)
Yep I've got a scanner as well (for military purposes) but I've listened into Police frequencies before. Yes they can do a QP on you by name/dob and access all that info including how many demerit points you have. Also they can spot your vehicle, call in your rego and know who the owner is and even if your rego and wof is current before they even pull you over.
So if you're thinking of bullshitting them don't even try as they will play along while you dig yourself even deeper.
A shame they are going to digital but I'd gladly forfeit my eavesdropping if it means less crims escape capture.
