I hadn't seen that before, and we may not see it again?

Waewae means leg in the Maori language. Waiwai is close but this isn't handgrenade throwing, so close doesn't count.

I should have gunned it, I would have easily made it but my conscience got the better of me and I stopped.
Coming up the Ohope hill on saturday, didnt see one car the whole way up, just cresting the top and 800m away he comes around from the dump at exactly the same time. His lights instantly on as he throws his car around. The rest is history.
And i truely didnt know it was a 80km zone, now I do!
130 in a 80! He was also going me for a dangerous driving charge until his sergent worked out who I worked for (minimum 6mths on the wai wai express) so that was lucky (I guess).
    Dirty Rozzers.
Ah well - at least you didn't get charged with "dangerous speed' on top, that's a court appearance more fines and 6 months loss of license.

Yeah, to think, if only he had stuck to the speed limit so close to home?

He could have cut me some slack, say 130 in a 100! he was a bit of a tosser, had to reverse up the road to get cell coverage, asked me how to spell the name of the road we were on..... twice, wrote the ticket and forgot to put the dollar amount in, couldnt spell 'scientific', and generally was a condicending prat.

OP did no such thing, he took it like a man
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

You did the right thing, hard as it may sound, stopping, not running mean't there was no more silliness going to happen. The fact that the copper couldn't spell shouldn't worry you anymore, these days they can have a criminal record and still get in, be too short an fat and still get in.
Course they have to members of a minority segment of the NZ populace before these waivers are administered but hey we don't mind do we?
I stopped too, no loss, no big fine, but plenty of demerit points copper wasn't going to give an inch on the speed but he did let me get another warrant instead of adding that to the ticket.
    I did too.

    No good deed goes unpunished.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
