    Three on the tree.

Starting with the oldest. 1987 Honda GB400TT with 40,000k's on the clock. 1988 Moto Guzzi v65 Lario with 83,000k's on, currently in the workshop getting the clutch replaced... Woe is me. Love that V twin sound though. Last but not least is my 2008 Suzuki GSX650Fwith 8,000k's on it, my start first time and do all I ask of it bike. Love them all as they are all totally different from each other.
If we could be heroes, if just for one day.

It's getting a little crowded in there now. And that is after I have sold 3 bikes this year. But I have added 6...

So had a quick count, and there is 20 bikes in there. Well OK, 3 are 50cc scooters that need a fix so I can flick them off. One day...

The ones running are the K100 (a work in progress), the SR 250 (really need to sell her), my 500 dirtbike (need a swing arm bush and front brake cable, but she is used on regular basis), my small ones 50cc KTM MotoX bike.

The "projects" are: my XV750 bobber, my Bonny custom, a PW50 in very small bits (one day...), NV 400 (my sons parts bike, but what is left of it can be put together and used for fun (one day...) 3 x Yamaha 100 2 stroke dirt bikes, 5 Suzuki 2 strokes from 100cc to 185 cc, a scooter I was planning to use for racing (one day...).

I love sitting in the backyard with a beer (or two) and tinker away on a project (or two). Sadly my work tends to get in the way...
There's nothing wrong with having a collection to tinker on, it's good for the soul. However, after many years of tinkering I decided that actually riding the things is waaaay more fun. I still do all the maintenance etc but I really can't be arsed with projects any more, waste of good riding time if you ask me. When I get home and pour a bourbon the only thing on my mind emptying the glass and pouring another one.

Keep up the good work though. If it makes you happy, go for it.

    Oh, answer; 3.

I figure that tyres go stale after about 3 years, so based on my yearly riding total (25,000-35,000) I can only have 3 or less 'runners' otherwise I can't use up the tires before they lose performance. Plus it is a lot of money in Rego keeping multiple bikes road ready. Lucky I have 2 pretty identical bikes that 'share' a plate..

    Sheesh.

I'm feeling spectacularly slack with only two bikes. Only one runs. The other is my Katana rebuild. See my blog for details.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I've got one in the shed, and 3 in the garage - hopefully when I move back to NZ later this year I will get a bigger shed!

    Ah ONE.

But in my defense Mrs B and I have a mortgage, two kids, two cats, and three fish.

I do have a nice blue trailer - does that count? (but it lives outside....).

    Unhappy Bike thefts

I had a PM pointing out that this thread has made bike thefts rise. That peeps are giving too much information here.

I honestly doubt this, but as I would hate to have made the life of bike thieve lowlifes easier:

PLEASE: Do NOT in this thread (or any other place on KB or any other site) provide information that can be used to find your bikes, your personal details, your security arrangements or anything whatsoever that can be used in a way, now or in the future, to steal your bikes!

Please re-read your posting and edit as appropriate to make sure that you have not provided information here that will cause theft to happen.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Seems a little unlikely, spose the theives could follow your bike back to your home where they now know theres a garage full of bike though. In my case the theifys already taken a good gander round my shed the last time he was here and didnt like the looks of my bikes obviously cos they are still there, fucker took my mx gears though.

Well I am down to 5 from a peak of 14 when I was a partner in a motorcycle courier company.

Just the Road King, two trail bikes, the Yamaha AS3 and one Solex left.
