Auckland Bus Lane and bike parking map put up

The council made this map of the bus lanes in Auckland for us.

    http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/auck...ps/default.asp

Also on the map is an option to see where all the motorcycle parks are in the CBD.

The parking map already existed, but they made the bus lane layer at my request (complaint?). Good work them.

Now I've just got to get used to the god-damn bus fumes. Hmmm.
To split or not to split, that is the question

Not frequenting Auckland very often and having limited experience with pay and display parking what do you reckon this sentence means?

"If you park your motorcycle in a pay and display area, you can park for free at the ends of the area."

Spoke to a very helpful parking warden and he said the same thing. They are referring to the 1st or last parking space. no ticket required. not sure why its the end ones, and not the middle.
They said i have so much ass crack that i could be a dealer

Basically means you can use a pay & display space without paying, but you have to use as little space as possible when you're doing it. So park with your rear wheel to the kerb, at the end of the row of P&D spaces.

If that's not possible you can park in any P&D space without paying, just park in the end of the space so other bikes (or a micro-car ) can also use the space if they want to.

There have been a few discussions on here about that, and people point out that your bike isn't very safe there because it's likely to get scuttled by a car trying to get in or out of the space. But in Auckland you WILL get ticketed if you park on the footpath so if you want to park for free, this is what you need to do.
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

I would love to see the buss lane that runs from Albany to Town seperate to the motorway open to bikers. I think it would be a safe thing to do. Let the cagers battle it out on the motorway and we can just chill on the buss lane. Bet all the buss drives would wave too!
