    Choices and decisions!

Ok have spent some time on North Shore, Auckland, South of Auckland, Rotorua, Tauranga.... and have come to the decision at 5ft 2... the best bike for me is the Yamaha XV250 Virago... its light & I can touch the ground... big confidence thing for me... any negatives welcome... have sat on the suzuki VL250, the kawasaki Ninja 250...and all are too heavy or high...

I like the Bayride shop... friendly, and have loads of excellent choice.. but

    any negatives AGAIN welcome.

Not my cup of tea but my neighbour has one and loves it. If you feel comfortable on a Virago then I guess you have found the bike for you. Nice one, now all that you have to do is go shopping!

Gee you know something? I so want to tell you that Virago suck's, but I cant, infractions suck

However what I will say is, you are not that tiny (You know what I mean, you are cute and small like me ) have a look at a few more bikes before you make the Virago choice. It is a low to the ground, low torque, non scarey bike, but you will out grow it I am picking. Still a very good first bike for the more ummmmmmm mature rider to start on

So tell me, have you gone and done it?

Hi Rocketgal68. So what are you going to use this bike for?

    Learning to ride?
    Main form of transport?
    Holidays - weekend rider?

I have friends with older viragos and they just keep going and going. So if you like them and they will do what you want to do with it - just go for it.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

It's you that is important. If a Virago is what feels comfy then a Virago it is. A V twin as a first bike is not all wrong.

    Go girl!!

May the bridges I burn light the way.
