And before the brown stuff hit the fan in the US with 3 wheelers:

Why those Norton Hi-Riders never took off is surely one of motorcycling's most enduring mysteries.
...she took the KT, and left me the Buell to ride....(Blues Brothers)

    So, Yamaha advocates suicide?
From that 1972 Yamaha ad: "...the only thing left to top, is yourself."
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    There are two possibilities...
    a) I am the Norton Commando girl from the '70s
    b) I have borrowed her image (without permission) for my avatar.

As I am an honest and upstanding citizen, I'm leaning towards option a).

    Either way, she's a stunner.
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

And this one, apparently much of it shot in NZ:

    And the making of it:

    Finally, the newer version:

Apologies, I know....not strictly '70's but still pretty cool

Or the third of the two possibilities is that you resemble the Norton Commando girl from the '70s.
The fourth of the two possibilities is that you don't really resemble her, but you're just as (or perhaps even more?) gorgeous.
    Option (a)? I think not.
You're obviously too youthful for that to be true.

    "The Impossible Dream" ads suck!
There's no Honda V4s in it!
They raved on about bikes and cars that were important milestones, icons, blah blah blah, but didn't research things!
What about the impact the VFs had on superbike racing in the '80s?
Or the RC45 in the '90s? (Before Ducati got certain dispensations to help them win).
Or the success they've had in the Le Mans 24-Hour racing?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

Can't argue with that! Still, it's not like ad agencies are big on facts at the best of times

That filled in a bit of time going through them all, thanks to all who found and posted them.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
