Shaune Harris saw our gear and he was very impressed. Now thats saying something!

    We are selling plenty actually.
By the way, if your going to make a comment like that you might want to make sure you spell the name correct. Its not a good look and shows you dont really know or understand who he is.

Well, when I started looking for bike gear I thought "jesus christ this stuff is expensive", but then I did some shopping around and managed to get everything for $850

I didn't want just rubbish gear, I wanted Leather with protection and good quality. Here is what I purchased.

My thoughts on getting cheap good gear is to be patient - if you rush out and just go buy you won't get great deals like the below. If you wait - well who knows what you will find.

    Gear:

    Helmet:
    Model: Shark S650
    Cost: $170
    Shop: Henderson Motorcycles via TradeMe
RRP: $370 (other people on TM selling for this price)

    Jacket:
    Shift Dyer (Red/Black
    Cost: $300
    Shop: motorcyclegear.co.nz
    RRP: $600

    Gloves
    Shift M1 (Black)
    Cost: $60
    Shop: Motorcyclegear.co.nz
    RRP: $160

    Pants:
    1Tonne Leather Sports
    Cost: $165
    Shop: 1Tonne.co.nz
RRP: $165 (not really able to be judged)

    Boots:
    Technic Chicane
    Cost: $150
    Shop: Waikato Yamaha via TradeMe
    RRP: $300

All the gear was Brand New - with a warranty - from a dealer/shop.

If you look at RRP vs Cost:

    RRP: $1600
    Cost: $850

    Savings: $750

My advice is anyone is out there looking at buying a bike for the first time and needs everything - start today - buy one bit at a time and shop around ALOT. Really paid off for me and I feel that I got a great deal and will be safe on the road.

    Yeah a $170 helmet.....Good luck with that

The lining will be falling out within 6mths......And the Visor will fail to function properly in 2mths..

With your $850 you spent on that riding gear....You should of brought a Cheap car and kepted that Hottie you were blah blah blahing about....

You would have been warm and Dry...With cheaper tyres cheaper rego....And a fck load safer !!!!!!!!!

I have 1tonne boots. They are a strange mishap and I have now been informed that other 1tonne products are not the same. But they are warm.
My dririder boots have been better to me over 4 years vs the 1 year with 1tonne boots.
I got dri-rider pants/jacket/gloves for those wet days, they are pretty damn good! Breathable too. I have lighter gloves [better quality too, but not very warm] and leather jacket/pants for the nice sunny days.
Don't be a jew, buy good gear, I can vouch for the protection of both sets of gear I have

1tonne do offer very good customer service =D

Hi. I am sorry to hear about this. This is the first case that we have heard that is like this. Our boots are normally exceptional quality. Sorry once again.

Crazy Steve - did you read what kind of helmet it was or did you just look at the price?

It's a Shark S650, which I feel is actually a quite decent helmet, good quality and by that european saftey standard is rated 4 stars. It's actually a $300-$380 helmet, which is more than sufficient. It also has a 5-year warranty.

I put this up alittle early, got everything bar the pants but that's what i'm going to buy in 2 weeks and i feel that i'll be very happy with them. From what i hear everyone who doesn't have the 1tonne gear bags the shit out of it, and everyone who does says "good gear at a good price".

Did you not have a good day at work or something? Go have a ride mate you're in a shitty mood or something.... No need to be a dick.

Perhaps it is a once off problem? Either way I don't use them now. I am not blaming the supplier, but the manufacturer. I got them for a reasonable price new though, what more can I expect?

Please email me as I would like to replace them. I like to look after my customers and do not like to hear of problems like this. We have had a very good responce from the customers of these boots. We normally give a 3 month warranty with our products (as some people do thrash them) but in certain circumstances I extend this. Look forward to hearing from you.
Also, regarding our boots. In 2-3 months we have a shipment arriving from one of the wolrds top boot manufacturers. These boots will be awesome!

    Cheers Nathan

I bought a pair of 1 Tonne 'race' boots a year ago and they've done around 14,000ks and are still in good condition.
