The somewhat unsalubrious neighbourhood photos don't really help.

The ad copy doesn't "sell" it to any particular buyer. There's a bit of a science to it which I can't be ased explaining. I sold a beatup old vt250f for 1800 by offering it as a learner machine you wouldn't cry about dropping.

How about listing it as the learner machine for the taller bloke? The highway capable 250 you can ride all day?

The problem with learner 250 bikes is they're little! Your vtr250 spada has oodles of get up and go but it's not all arse up head down cramped like a cbr, zzr, gsxr. You've ridden it all over right?

CBR fairing helps on the long rides too.
The "neighborhood" photos are just your general rural driveway...
I wanted to mention the exhaust as it is another non standard item.
I have done quite a few long trips, MSTRS, HXC and I did 500km or more in one day. Both spadas did very well and were extremely comfy, just the wind buffeting nothered me, now it can't get me. It's not cramped like the sportier 250's, it's a great compromise
No, this bike has never been crashed. I have painted it because I like black, black is good.

1)your pictures are terrible -The secret is to do them in good light with a very simple but complimentary background. --iM NOT PARTICULARLY GOOD AT PICTURES BUT HAVE A LOOK AT THE mILLARSCARCENTRE ADVERTS This has been pointed out to me, when the weather has improved beyond gale force wind and rain I will endeavor to get pretty and flattering photos.
    2) the wording suggests the bikes a rebuilt wrightoff
I can see how, viewing the bike will sort that assumption out
    3) the bike isn't origonal or origonal apearing.
I am well aware of this too, it may be a thing that can only be understood or appreciated after riding the bike
    Thanks Frosty

How many people have viewed the bike? Did they say why they didn't want to buy it?

I think your wording is better but the photo's could still be improved..

Presentation is, in my opinion, the key to getting people to come and take a look. Personally, I'd take photo's with nothing in the background if you can. That way there is nothing to distract the focus away from the bike.

Take photo's that are clear and show detail, if anything needs touching up do that first.

When I was looking it was the photo's that drew me back to any particular advert.

In this market people can be fickle and will pick holes in anything because they know there will be another bike not far away for the same kind of $$.

    Again, good luck

One more thing, if you think your location is a reason why people aren't coming to look at it change the location of the bike if you can. Leave it with a mate for viewing etc..

Sorry if someone has already suggested this.

The kind of young guy you're targeting is probably tight on cash and for him this bike is probably his first. He may not know how easy it is to ship bikes around the country. So get a quote from (for example) biketranz for shipping to Auckland and include it in the advert. Also buy a copy of the VIR and if it doesn't sound dodgy make it available to interested buyers. Takes away a hassle and shows good will on your part. There are heaps of potential buyers up there and if you make it easy for them they might just bid.

If all else fails, sex sells.

Maybe you should do something like what that scary washing machine guy did and talk it into being ....... Scary motorcycle that takes you back in time or some such shit. Get a suitably inebriated friend, get blind ripped and bounce ideas around or get a Female friend to poze in a bikini on yer machine.

Couple of not so stupid ideas there for ya.

REMINDER --I tel this to all sales staff---You only need to sell it ONCE.
number of hits -etc means nothing--what matters is that one buyer.
