    Wanted: Honda seat

Hey guys know it's not meant to be here but how many people check the buy and sell?

Needing a standard seat for a 05 CR250, I imagine other years would fit aswell and if there's a CRF seat around then I'm sure I can work something out with that too.

    Cheers

youll be pissing in the wind to fit a CRF one on - not even close to similar.

you'l be looking for an 03-07 CR250 seat, and i dont fancy your chances finding one 2nd hand in nz.

    have you tried ebay?
what happened to the original one?- you can easily obtain new covers and foam

Well I had an 06 CRF450 one on yesterday but only one rear bolt could be made to line up. This was how I decided I wanted a fullsize one for it. So given this I'm pretty sure I could modify the rear mounts to fit it..... So similar enough!

Haven't tried EBay, have no experience with it and thought I'd try other options first.

When I got it the bike had a cut down seat which altho I enjoy for trail riding it turned out to be a bit of a pain on the moto x track yesterday. I do have the standard cover too so I guess I could have a go at moulding some foam to make one but ideally this wouldn't be needed, it would also be nice to have the cut down one to swap on if wanted.

    Cheers mate

According to a few EBAY auctions the 00-07 CR250 and CR125 seats are all the same. Bit of a bigger range if anyone has something or knows of something. Cheers

Seemed to clip in just fine, the front lip sat slightly higher but I'm not fussy if it's easier to get a CRF one than a CR. It sure made a big difference through corners having the extra inch or two of foam there.

As an aside, I'm starting to quite like the Honda. 3rd ride on it and 1st time ever on a MX track and it went like stink, gave me the confidence (eventually) to go from skipping half the jumps first lap to clearing everything lap after lap in the last few. Was also playing on a YZF250 and aforementioned CRF450 and altho both were nice the ol CR was definately my pick. Apart from the massive amounts of Honda bashing it attracts I'm glad I got it

Nah mate, kept the CR in the end. Glad I did too, someone has to rep the 2 strokes now Darryl's deserted aswell! Still tossing up selling either one of them, the cash would be nice to pick up a ute or a van.

How is it over there? Found a few good watering holes? I've been eyeing up some of these cheap flights over lately. Could make for a good weekend.
