    U-turning Police Cars

This morning riding along east coast bays at about 7:15 in the wet, there was a row of cars in front of me. A few cars ahead I notice a car on the opossite side doing a share U-Turn in front of oncoming traffic. I had to slow down a bit to let him finish his stunt. But it gets better...

Suddenly the lights come on, its an unmarked cop. He pulls out to over take the some of the cars on the median strip then finds the concrete island in his way, so he pulls completely over to the wrong side of the road to pass the cars and go around the island! Nothing was coming the other way luckily.

I kept my eye on him, hoping he was going on some urgent life saving mission but alas, he pulled an old clunker off the road - probably for 'speeding'.

What you reckon? A petty infringement I should let slide or something worth complaining about?

Hope ya dont complain too much when this thread gets chucked in with the other u turning cops threads !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if you'd managed to get the number of the squad car it could have been fun making a complaint. However, if they wanted to they could find out who was on patrol up there at that hour, but I doubt they'd want to.

Always good to try and get a back-up witness coz your word alone against a cop ain't worth shit.

Mind you, if everybody who saw a cop doing something silly did nothing about it they'd keep doing silly shit and one day some bikers might get taken out in somewhere like the Buller Gorge. Doh! Too late.

Yep, I have his rego, was thinking of posting it up here to shame the pig and ask passers by to key the paintwork as the pass by, but no doubt that would be traceable somehow

It's also unlikely to affect the driver in any way, the taxpayer will just foot the repair bill.

    Complain and complain hard.

If he'd seen you doing a dodgey u-turn you'd be in the box quicker than you can say "it wasn't me, officer".

if i were you i would write YOUR account of the situation and send it to HQ... asking for their reply please......

and just see... enough of these and the police may change (tui?) their rules to suit the conditions.. like everyone else has to....

Put in a complaint. They may do nothing with it...this time...but there will be a record. The next time the bozzo does something off, and a member of the public complains...you get the picture.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Hang on..he was only doing his job wasn't he? well, wasn't he??
we all know the police are above the law in their own minds, so what is the advantage of complaining?
Ya better off throwing a grenade at him for some 'instant justice'

I bet that's what he would say to the complaint. Pitty there are so few of them who don't seem to realise that there's a difference between police doing thier job and police doing thier job safely.

Too right. I was watching some "cops" show on telly, and the idiot officer does exactly that, right on camera for the world to see! A car coming up behind him comes completely to a halt facing his drivers' door while he is U turning.

Don't these people like living or something?
